Power Plant OperatorLocation: Newport News, Virginia, United StatesSalary Range: $57,283.20 to $85,196.80The selected candidate will operate critical equipment and systems, which provide production trades plant services, such as low and high pressure steam, low & high pressure compressed air, river water, and demineralized water. The person must be a team player, highly motivated and work with minimal supervision. This position requires working a rotating shift including holidays and weekends.Must Have: The individual must hold a valid Driver's License, have the ability to read and interpret basic blue prints and technical specification and/or equipment operating manuals.Nice to Have: Basic knowledge of plant operations, computers, electrical, pipefitting, and troubleshooting control systems are a plus. High school graduate is preferred. Previous military experience with boiler operations and associated systems along with experience in plant operations involving air compressors or water pumping system is a plus, but not required. Experience with maintenance and repair of steam operating 600 psi and above marine type boilers is preferred.
