Power Plant OperatorThe job of Power Plant Operator was established for the purposes of providing maintenance services and overall operations with specific responsibility for ensuring completion of assigned work order projects and continued operation of the cogeneration plant; performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities (e. g. HVAC systems, alarms – Direct Digital Control, Emergency Generator Systems, Computer Monitoring Systems, Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Co-Generation plant, etc.) and any other duties as directed.High School graduate or recognized equivalent plus formal trade/vocational school training or five (5) years related experience. Completion of apprenticeship program preferred.Ability to use standard hand tools, machinery and equipment plus precision measuring tools. Basic to advanced knowledge of Direct Digital Control systems and PLC based Plant Control Systems, Steam Boilers and/or Cogeneration systems and operations. Ability to read and interpret blue prints and to prepare material takeoffs. Basic to advanced code and regulatory knowledge. Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. Intermittent to regular exposure to unpleasant physical conditions, including but not limited to: high temperatures and general outdoor seasonal weather conditions. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
